Annie is a Norwegian singer-song-writer and DJ. Based in Berlin. She made her debut and breakthrough with “The Greatest Hit” in 1999. The success was followed up by the debut-album “Heartbeat” in 2004. It earned her a well deserved Grammy and several other national awards in Norway. Pitchfork appointed “Heartbeat” track of the year 2004. In 2009 Pitchfork made “Heartbeat” no. 17 of all tracks in the 2000s.
Winther has released two full length albums, and the third is in the making as we speak. In June 2014 her new single will be out. Also, Winther wrote the song “No One”, that Hans-Erik Dyvik Husby (Hank von Hell known from Turbonegro) performed at the national Eurovision final in Norway in 2013. And in 2014 Carl Espen performed her song “Silent Storm”, which got voted to a fine eighth place in the ESC-grand final in Copenhagen. “Norway’s finest! She switches the mood seamlessly between rock numbers and slow solo number, helped by her between-songs patter which is both engaging and genuinely funny.”- Tonythegigguy.com
